  • An automated wood-fuelled boiler using wood pellets from the Vosges forest’s, installed in 2003, heats the leisure pool & swimming pool, the skating rink’s reception, the town hall and village hall. Power: 700 kWh, with an annual output of 1 830 MWh/year.
  • There are project for wood-fuelled boilers in several city centre buildings with an estimated power of 2000 kWh

  • Solar photovoltaic panels and solar water heaters have been installed on private homes and company buildings

  • Geothermal energy for heating installed on several private homes

  • 6 hydroelectric power stations using water from mountain lakes with an average annual output of 8 000 MWh (equivalent to the consumption of 4000 residents)

  • La Bresse started their Carbon footprint in 2008, in a partnership with the ADEME, the ANMSM and Mountain Riders
  • Information about the optimization of energy consumptions in buildings is available at the Régie municipale d’électricité, and at the Espace Info Energie

  • The skating rink leisure area is HQE certified

  • The Future Haute-Moselotte house of arts and trades is to match the HQE criteria

  • The La Bresse Cornimont sewage treatment plant has a capacity of 13 000 PE, sewage discharge limits are respected

  • 29 recycling collection points are provided for the remote areas and 18 in town with sorting of glass and paper/cardboard

  • La Bresse signed the ANMSM Charter for sustainable development in ski resorts, and the local representative has been appointed: Mr Jean Eynus
  • The resort was awarded the ‘Famille plus’ kite mark and offers specific infrastructures and discounts for families

  • Farmers market on Sunday mornings in the city centre and craft’s market on Thursdays over the summer period

  • 12 farms are located in the town of la Bresse (livestock, dairy and wool farming) with cows, sheep, goats and llamas

  • Access to several sites for those with disabilities, possibility of diverse activities
